Slacker me...

 I think I start every blog like this lately... but I really stink at this blogging thing...

This has been the greatest winter - warmer weather and no snow (I could have handled snow once-one snowman, one snowball fight, one day of heavy clothing, but no more).   Here's a little of what we have been up to.  One day I heard Marcus crying for me and this is what I found.

 He didn't appreciate me getting the camera and laughing at him before I helped him out.

Also, just wanted to give you a shot of what I get to enjoy everyday.  Marcus is the funniest kid.  He spends FOREVER brushing his teeth.

The kids had dentist appointments, they had a lot of fun and were all smiles the whole time.  Katie had an appointment as well but somehow didn't end up in any of the pictures.

The girls and I went to see Rapunzel at the children's theater.  Talia joined us.  The girls were so excited, they insisted on dressing fancy (some inspiration from Fancy Nancy maybe).  We had a great time, it was really fun to watch them understand and laugh at the jokes.  Talia was really funny because when we got there she asked me when she got to "play", and when it was over she said, 'ok, now can we go play?"

Mark took Marcus to do some 'boy stuff'; I think that included going to a sports bar and getting some soda and greasy food.

 We love Katie's school.  We walk her down every morning and walk to pick her up every afternoon.  I get to volunteer there about once a week which has been fun for both me and Katie.  For Black History Day at her school, Katie had the opportunity to dress up as a character from black history and give a speech on her.  Here is her speech;

"My name is Barbara Posey. When I was 15 I was part of a sit-in at a restaurant where black people were not allowed to eat.  We sat in their restaurant until they gave us food.  I helped open 66 restaurants so that black people could eat there."

She gave the speech to her class and did a very good job.  I was so proud of her.  She was one of only a few kids in her class that participated.

Here she is as Barbara Posey with her pig tails and bobby socks.
The kids have been having a blast with Rufio.  He is a pretty good dog.  We have him house trained so we are now working on everything else.

Now that Spring is here (it's not official yet right?) we are having so much fun outside.  The weather is perfect here right now.  We are taking long walks and enjoying the park.  We love our backyard, with the fence I can let the dog and kids out and not have to worry at all.

At the beginning of March I decided to pull Marcus and Addy out of preschool.  They would ask to stay home with me almost every morning and finally I couldn't do it anymore.  I have temporarily stopped working with birthmoms, so it isn't bad.  They entertain each other enough that I can stay sane having them home everyday by myself.  AND, things have not been as crazy for Mark so we have been seeing him before bedtime more often then not.

And last put not least, Addy gave her first talk in Primary (kids Sunday school) today.  She did such a great job.  She spoke loud enough that Mark could hear her in the back of the room.  So proud of my little girl!
(On a side note, I told her once that she was growing up too fast, so now she says that she is not going to grow up.  She starts conversations with me that go like this:  Addy; "do you want me to get big?" me; "no" Addy; "ok, I will stay little forever".  And on another side note, she is obsessed with slippers, she found some of Katie's old costume slippers and started wearing those.  I bought her a pair of pink fairy ones and she wears them whenever she is in the house.  She even tried to wear them to bed, but I was able to talk her into just leaving them beside her bed.)
