Overachievers

Warning: this post is mostly just me bragging.

In November, Addy and Marcus both got Citizenship awards for being good examples at school.  I was a little worried about Marcus going up front of everyone to accept his but he did it no problem.  School has worked wonders with his shyness.

Meanwhile, Mark had a birthday but he was in China so the kids made him a sign so we could send him a message on facebook.

Notice Addy's writing, I love it!  She started writing backwards about a year and half ago.  We think it is because she is a lefty.  She has been working on correcting it this year in Kindergarten, but every once in a while she slips back into backwards writing.

When he got back we had a cake and party waiting for him.  Nothing better then celebrating with kids who think you rock the world (which he does of course).

Ok, so now back to the bragging...All three of the kids received principle awards for good grades this last term.  We are so proud of our little monsters!  They are all doing so well in school and loving it.  I get to volunteer in their classes and am always so proud to see them being good friends and behaving well.  Addy is learning sign language because there is a little boy in her class that signs.  Marcus is on 'perfect purple' almost every day.  The funniest part about that is when I volunteer he is a little stinker if he is in the group I am working with-I think he gets jealous that I am paying equal attention to his friends.

The school had a read-a-thon to raise money for a fellow student with cancer.  Katie won for most minutes read in 2nd grade, and as a prize she got a huge basket of popcorn, candy and movie tickets.  She treated the family to the movie Frozen.
