After school was out we headed to Utah to party. The plane ride was insane with Mr. Jaxon on board. He cried, threw his toys and food, but somehow managed to charm the people around us. Luckily, it was a straight flight and all the other kids where pretty good (Marcus did watch cartoon network for 5 hours straight, but hey who is counting--or paying attention to WHAT he was watching!). AND, we went straight to Cafe Rio off the plane so Mark and I were quickly able to forget everything.
The day after we arrived, we hung out around the house and let the kids play
the back yard. Hannah and her boyfriend drove up from Provo to hang out
with us.
Katie's birthday was on Wed. We spent the day at the pool with cousins. One of the saddest part of living in CT is that outdoor pools are not easy to find, so the kids were super excited to spend the day in the sun and the water.
Jaxon is a fish in water, a couple times he was under so long that we felt like we should pull him up. He came up holding his breath.
We had some daredevils on this day. Katie decided that she was going to jump of the high dive, so she did. It was pretty funny watching her in line to climb the dive. She was watching all the other kids jump and I could tell she was willing herself not to back out. Watching Katie, Addy decided that she too was going to jump off a diving board. I told her that she could not jump of the (low) diving board until she had swum half the width of the pool. Even though I knew she could swim that far, until now, Addy has always been to scared to see what she could do. But determination drove her on and she decided she could do it. After a few tries, she made it-I think she was more proud of herself for swimming then for the actual jump. When Marcus saw all the action he decided to be part of it.
After the pool, we headed back to Grammy and Grandpa's house to get ready for Katie's birthday party. Katie went home with Aunt Riley to get her hair cut and curls, while we got everything ready.
Jaxon loves Rosie, he spent most of the vacation being up in her face like this.
Happy Birthday my fantastic 8 year old!
The day after Katie's birthday, we hung out at Rachel's pool. Things got a little crazy!
My favorite thing about Utah is all the outdoors stuff to do.
Every time we visit I have to hike one of the mountains, so 4th of July morning we were up bright and early for a hike.
Trouble 3 and 2!
That evening we met everyone at the fireworks. They had a band playing while we waiting for it to get dark, so my kids and most the cousins danced their hearts out. It was a great night full of candy, fun, loud noises and staying up WAY too late!
Sunday after a day at church and dinner with the family, Mark and I headed to the airport for a 8 day trip to France. The kids stayed with Grammy and Grandpa (and Emily, Rosie and Matilda).
Mark and I returned from France Monday and our family flew back to NYC Tues. We had one last family party before we took off.

The awkward photo bomb, doesn't Addy look like she was photo shopped in?
